Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Manufacturing Manager to lead operations at our Wacol site. As a senior leader, you will have end‑to‑end accountability for key production areas and up to 200 team members, including team leaders.
You will be highly visible on the factory floor, setting clear direction while embedding lean manufacturing disciplines and driving continuous improvement. This role plays a critical part in shaping site performance, capability, and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and champion a strong safety culture, with unwavering focus on safe systems of work, quality, throughput, and operational excellence.
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, QCP, HACCP, and QA standards, maintaining audit readiness at all times.
- Drive performance against key KPIs across Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, Yield, and Throughput.
- Partner closely with QA, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, and Maintenance to resolve issues and deliver sustainable improvements.
- Mentor, develop, and empower team leaders and room leaders to identify opportunities, implement change, and build resilience and capability.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through shared vision, accountability, teamwork, and personal growth.
What You’ll Do
- Own and role‑model the site safety culture, championing proactive risk identification and mitigation.
- Apply lean manufacturing methodologies to improve performance, using data and KPIs to drive disciplined execution.
- Collaborate across functions to resolve issues quickly, maintain compliance, and achieve zero CARs.
- Support and coach supervisors and leaders to lift capability, performance, and engagement.

About You
- You bring significant experience leading large teams in a manufacturing or FMCG environment, ideally within meat or smallgoods.
- You are a resilient, hands‑on leader who thrives in fast‑paced, physically demanding operational settings.
- You have strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and manufacturing standards, combined with clear, confident communication skills.
- You are solutions‑focused, comfortable managing conflict, and driven by outcomes and continuous improvement.
