The Opportunity

Visy Food Can is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead operations at our Shepparton site.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations in a 24/5 environment. This role is focused on aligning teams, setting clear standards and ensuring consistent execution across shifts.

You’ll play a key role in lifting capability, strengthening frontline leadership, and ensuring the site operates in line with Visy’s safety, food safety and performance expectations in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Production Supervisors and Maintenance Leaders
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure full HSE compliance
• Ensure compliance with FSSC, ISO, HACCP and GMP standards
• Deliver site production, quality and performance targets (OEE, waste, downtime)
• Optimise labour, materials and machine utilisation for efficiency
• Partner with Maintenance to improve reliability and reduce downtime
• Maintain strong on-floor presence, reinforcing standards and resolving issues in real time
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using data (OEE, MTBF, MTTR)
• Manage operational costs including labour, materials and conversion costs
• Support budget delivery and drive productivity improvements

What You Will Bring

• Proven leadership experience in high-volume, shift-based manufacturing (FMCG or packaging)
• Strong experience working within HACCP, GMP and food safety environments
• Track record delivering safety, quality and performance outcomes
• Experience leading frontline leaders and building accountability
• Strong continuous improvement capability with Lean exposure
• Commercial awareness with the ability to influence cost and performance outcomes
• Strong communication, coaching and problem-solving skills
