Job Description

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Manufacturing and Logistics Program Support Technician will support the mission Community College Workforce Alliance’s (CCWA’s) mission by providing administrative and program support to the Manufacturing and Logistics workforce training team and programs, and other services, for job seekers and industry (i.e., Manufacturing, Logistics, CDL, etc.).

The Program Support Tech will support registration by helping track Manufacturing and Logistics related grants, and support the tuition assistance process when needed, serves as a subject matter expert for processes related to Manufacturing and Logistics programming, and act as a liaison to 3rd party vendors, proctors, instructors, and students. This position will help oversee and coordinate class preparation, basic technology support, and reporting with minimal supervision and the highest level of customer service.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.


KSA's/Required Qualifications
  • Considerable knowledge of administrative and office support functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency with applicable computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and the internet.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and work independently while demonstrating excellent organizational and office management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with individuals both internal and external to the organization, and successfully working with multi-generational and diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships while working independently and as part of a team to provide excellent customer service to all customers and clients.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and college financial aid regulations and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate policies and procedures; and the ability to research and solve problems independently.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, prioritize multiple tasks and keep accurate records while working in a fast paced rapidly changing environment.

Additional Considerations
  • Post-secondary training or education in office administration, business or industry related program of study
  • Experience working with manufacturing or business companies or in a workforce development environment
  • Experience communicating with corporate and government agencies
  • Experience working with computer-based student information systems and financial reports.
