The Line Lead (2nd shift, M-F, 2:00pm – 10:30pm) is within our Auto/Car Care/Prestone division and is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of assigned production lines to ensure safe, efficient, and quality-driven manufacturing processes. Working under the direction of the Supervisor or Manager, this position leads production team members, monitors line performance, performs equipment setup and changeovers, troubleshoots operational issues, and ensures compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
The Line Lead serves as the primary point of contact on the production floor, coordinating workflow, supporting employees, maintaining production records, and communicating operational, quality, and equipment-related concerns to leadership. This role is also responsible for achieving production targets, minimizing downtime, promoting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

This role is located at our Alsip, Illinois facility.
The expected compensation for this position is an hourly rate of $30.00 - $34.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications and is bonus eligible.
Your role at Prestone
• Lead and support production employees to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Operate, monitor, adjust, start, and stop production line equipment, including fillers, carton formers, carton sealers, and drop-packers.
• Complete production line changeovers on Line 1 and Line 2.
• Monitor production schedules and output to meet daily performance goals.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure products meet company standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment, process, and material issues; coordinate with maintenance when needed.
• Perform approved minor equipment adjustments and repairs.
• Process plastic, cardboard, and grind bottles as required.
• Serve as backup for Filling Production Operators and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Train, coach, and mentor team members on procedures, safety practices, and operational standards.
• Manage and support critical machine operations, process optimization initiatives, and daily production tasks within the Blow Mold Department to maximize equipment uptime, ensure process consistency and reliability, and achieve safety, quality, efficiency, and production objectives as required.
• Coordinate staffing and workflow to maximize productivity.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and inspection records.
• Communicate shift updates, quality concerns, and equipment issues to incoming leads and management.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, GMP requirements, and work instructions.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout production areas.

Qualifications and Skills
• High School Diploma required
• Minimum of 5 years previous manufacturing or production experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a Lead role in a production environment.
• Strong working knowledge of production equipment, processes, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to train and motivate employees.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
The facility operates in a manufacturing industrial setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of material as required. Duties involve standing, walking and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods, bending, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, handling, feeling, seeing, hearing, and remaining in a standing position for extended durations. May require overtime and weekend work.
