Manufacturing Lead - Plan to Make Process
At Bavarian Nordic, we are committed to saving and improving lives by unlocking the power of the immune system. Our commercial product portfolio includes market-leading vaccines against smallpox, mpox, rabies, tick-borne encephalitis, typhoid fever, and cholera. We excel in R&D innovation, manufacturing, and commercialization, striving to improve people's health and quality of life worldwide, protecting our tomorrow.
The role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Lead - Plan to Make Process to act as the business design authority within the Plan-to-Make global process in our ERP business transformation program. This role ensures that manufacturing processes—from high-level to detailed workflows—are accurately defined, standardized across sites, and embedded into the enterprise template, while reflecting shop-floor realities and biopharma compliance requirements.
In this role, you will partner with Site Heads, Global Process Owner, Process Managers, and ERP consultants to deliver a solution that supports operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and scalability.
Over the past two years, we have evolved from a finance-focused system to a full ERP platform, established a dedicated Supply Chain organization, and built a cross-functional Digital Transformation function that connects IT, business operations, and external partners.
To support our transformation journey, you will have the project charter ownership:
You will lead the creation, alignment, and approval of the project charter for external connectivity (3PL/4PL & CMO integration), clearly defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, stakeholders, success criteria, governance structure, and risk management
The position reports to the Head of Digital Transformation, Supply Chain, and is based in Denmark at our biggest manufacturing site in Kvistgaard.
Key responsibilities:
Co-lead design of end-to-end manufacturing processes (L0–L3/L4) aligned with global standards
Govern standard vs. site-specific deviations in line with regulatory and BER principles
Represent shop-floor needs in system design and validate core manufacturing flows
Embed GMP/GxP, QA, validation, and CSV requirements into process design
Define manufacturing master data and drive site readiness for cutover and go-live
Enable change through training, operator-friendly instructions, and a strong Super User network
What you bring:
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a proven track record with solid experience in process design and standardization across multiple sites. You hold the ability to bridge business and technology, collaborating with ERP consultants and IT and you bring deep expertise in ERP platforms (D365 or SAP) and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. Besides this, we are looking for someone with the following background/skills:
Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to connect strategic vision to operational execution
8+ years in biopharma manufacturing with strong GxP knowledge
Full proficiency in English – written and spoken is mandatory, Danish and/or German is a plus
Why this role
This is a unique opportunity to shape the digital future of Bavarian Nordic at a pivotal moment in our transformation journey. You’ll be at the heart of a global ERP rollout and digital innovation agenda—bridging business, IT, and advanced technologies like AI and analytics.
You will work cross-functionally with senior stakeholders, lead strategic pilots, and help build scalable solutions that support a highly regulated biopharma environment. If you’re passionate about driving real change, influencing enterprise-wide decisions, and future-proofing digital capabilities, this role offers both impact and visibility.
