What we offer

The Manufacturing Equipment Engineer leads the design, installation, and continuous improvement of the manufacturing equipment and machinery that keep our production sites runningThis role offers the rare opportunity to start up multiple state-of-the-art, fully automated factories and is critical to ensuring our sites operate at peak efficiency, safety, and quality. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer with exposure to project management and operations.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with the Product Design and Operations teams to scope and source equipment that meets product and volume requirements while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Write Request for Quote and Request for Proposal documents that specify the requirements for equipment designs.
  • Conduct equipment risk assessments and implement appropriate safeguards.
  • Ensure all equipment meets relevant safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement Team to identify equipment suppliers, lead bid meetings, evaluate quotes and proposals, and negotiate purchase order terms.
  • Manage contractors through the detailed design, fabrication, factory acceptance testing, installation, and site acceptance testing of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Provide technical training and support to maintenance technicians and operators.
  • Collaborate with the Finance and Accounting Team to manage project budgets and payments.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs and spare parts plans to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment failures.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Other duties as required.

What you bring

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a high-volume, highly automated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, automation systems, and industrial controls.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with accountability and attention to detail.

Bonus Points

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
  • Project Management Professional certification.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Experience in the pre-fabricated housing industry.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000. Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills. We recognize that exceptional situations may fall outside this range, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply.
