Position Title: Engineering Technician Sr Professional - Electrical Asset Reliability

MAIN PURPOSE (Briefly state the job's overall objective)

Manage the reliability and maintainability of electrical systems and equipment through the application of predictive and preventive maintenance techniques to minimize unplanned downtime events due to equipment failure.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Briefly describe the most important aspects of the job)

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve predictive, preventive, and condition-based maintenance strategies for electrical and rotating equipment to maximize asset reliability, availability, and performance.
  • Lead equipment condition monitoring programs utilizing vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication analysis, and other predictive maintenance techniques to identify reliability risks and drive proactive maintenance actions.
  • Perform reliability and risk assessments on critical equipment to identify failure modes, evaluate operational risks, and define mitigation strategies.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCA), FMEA, Ishikawa, and other reliability studies for equipment failures, ensuring the implementation and sustainability of corrective actions.
  • Develop, optimize, and govern preventive maintenance programs for critical equipment based on reliability analysis, equipment performance, and maintenance history.
  • Establish, monitor, and report reliability and maintainability KPIs, including MTBF, MTTR, MTTF, equipment availability, and downtime, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Drive the implementation of reliability technologies and condition monitoring solutions to enhance asset performance, equipment health visibility, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Coordinate cross-functional reliability improvement initiatives with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and specialized technical resources to reduce corrective maintenance and improve equipment performance.
  • Provide technical leadership and reliability expertise during Management of Change (MOC), PSSR, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) processes related to electrical and rotating equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Site Management System requirements (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, PSM, SARI, NSF, KOSHER, and other applicable standards), the Orbia Asset Integrity Management Standard (PSMS-010-AIM), and calibration requirements for reliability monitoring equipment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LANGUAGE, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (To perform satisfactorily in this job what type of knowledge and experience is required?)

Education

  • Required: Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering or related Engineering.
  • Desirable: Level II in Infrared Thermography.

Knowledge and Experience.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in reliability, asset integrity, maintenance, or industrial operations within the chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, or process industries.
  • Working knowledge of reliability engineering principles, failure analysis methodologies (RCA, FMEA), and asset integrity management practices.
  • Knowledge of electrical and rotating equipment, predictive maintenance technologies, and condition monitoring techniques.
  • Proficiency in SAP PM, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools such as Power BI and Advanced Excel.
  • Familiarity with applicable industry standards including API, ASME, NFPA, ISO 55000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Knowledge of lubrication management, vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound inspection, and performance monitoring equipment.
  • Experience working with contractors, technical service providers, and specialized reliability technologies.

Language:

  • English proficiency (B2 level or higher).

Physical requirements for the position such as mobility, vision, strength, etc. (applicable in line with local laws):

  • Ability to move independently throughout industrial facilities and access operating areas, including stairs and elevated structures.
  • Ability to perform field inspections and condition monitoring activities using specialized diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment, instrumentation, indicators, and safety signage.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments while using the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
