The Manufacturing Engineering Planner is responsible for bridging the gap between engineering and manufacturing by developing, maintaining, and optimizing Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs), digital work instructions, and manufacturing process documentation. This role supports the successful transition of engineering designs into production by creating accurate manufacturing data, maintaining configuration-controlled documentation, processing engineering changes, and ensuring manufacturing information is aligned with production requirements. Working cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, Quality, and Production, the Manufacturing Engineer Planner plays a key role in improving manufacturing processes, supporting quality and traceability requirements, and driving standardization through the implementation and ongoing maintenance of planning documentation and digital work instructions.

- Create, maintain, and manage Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs) to support manufacturing operations and ensure configuration-controlled production data.
- Develop, update, and maintain digital work instructions that accurately reflect manufacturing processes and engineering requirements.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) to Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) process by translating engineering data into manufacturing-ready documentation and recommending DFM product structure enhancements.
- Process engineering changes by evaluating impacts to MBOMs, work instructions, and related manufacturing documentation, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, Production, and other cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing documentation supports efficient production and quality requirements.
- Assist in developing manufacturing build sequences and process plans to improve production efficiency and standardization.
- Analyze and maintain large, complex Bills of Materials and manufacturing data using Windchill MPMLink.
- Ensure manufacturing documentation complies with quality, traceability, and configuration management requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for MBOMs, digital work instructions, and manufacturing documentation while providing guidance and training to internal stakeholders as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, data integrity, and operational efficiency.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant manufacturing planning or engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing planning, production planning, industrial engineering, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and managing complex Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience supporting engineering changes and maintaining configuration-controlled manufacturing data.
- Experience developing or maintaining manufacturing process plans, work instructions, or production documentation preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing environment with large assemblies or complex product structures is highly desirable.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Planning, and Production, to support manufacturing operations.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing planning principles, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong technical writing skills – able to translate engineering language into clear, user-friendly instructions.
- Proficiency in creating, maintaining, and organizing complex Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs) and related manufacturing data.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including working with large datasets, formulas, filtering, sorting, and pivot tables; experience with macros or VBA is a plus.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications/drawings, manufacturing processes, and product structures to support production planning and execution.
- Experience developing and maintaining step-by step digital work instructions with visuals and manufacturing process documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex data and identify process improvements.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working with large volumes of technical information.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Planning, Production, and other cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, support engineering change implementation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience working in aerospace, automotive, or other complex manufacturing environments.
- Experience creating and maintaining digital work instructions.
- Knowledge of Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs) and Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs), including product structure management.
- Experience supporting engineering change management and configuration-controlled manufacturing documentation.

Elevate Aircraft Seating offers competitive wages and benefits to recognize employees for their work. The base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.
Salary Range Transparency: $75,000 - $112,000 annually
