ME Manager at Molex CFPA Plant
Lead all manufacturing engineering activities to ensure alignment with operational needs. Drive continuous improvements in productivity, quality, manufacturing cost, and process capability. Our Team
The Manufacturing Engineering team supports the Datacom & Specialty Solutions (DSS) division.
Key project stakeholders include Production, PDE, AQP, QA, PM, and cross-functional teams in DG, NPV, and Guadalajara.
What You Will Do (Job Description)
- Manage the daily activities of the Manufacturing Engineering, PJM, DPE, and MPE teams to ensure operational continuity and drive continuous improvement in process safety, quality, productivity, manufacturing cost, process capability, and capacity.
- Develop long-term manufacturing capacity and facility expansion plans aligned with business growth forecasts and strategic investment priorities.
- Develop and implement a manufacturing technology roadmap aligned with product and business strategies to reduce manufacturing costs, strengthen process capabilities, and improve competitiveness.
- Plan and optimize production workshops, manufacturing line layouts, material flow, and space utilization.
- Lead the introduction and standardization of new manufacturing equipment, and develop automation and digital transformation roadmaps to improve productivity, quality, process capability, and labor efficiency.
- Partner with front-end engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful transfer, qualification, ramp-up, and stabilization of new products and manufacturing processes at the plant.
- Build organizational capability through succession planning, technical competency development, leadership development, and talent pipeline management.
- Develop departmental procedures and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, systems, and regulations.
- Prepare annual budget estimates for capital equipment, fixtures, tooling, personnel expenses, and related items, and manage actual spending against the approved budget.
- Lead cost engineering initiatives in collaboration with the Operational Excellence team, including labor productivity improvement, process optimization, equipment utilization improvement, manufacturing cost modeling, and should-cost analysis.
- Champion Principle Based Management™ (PBM) within the Manufacturing Engineering organization.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience in FPCA, PCBA, or related industries.
- Experience in budgeting, scheduling, and project management.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and developing technical talent.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across operations, engineering, quality, finance, supply chain, and global teams.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and working-level English.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Strong English communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking.
- Familiarity with quality management tools such as APQP, PPAP, and PFMEA.
- Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Experience implementing rigid-flex or roll-to-roll (RTR) FPC manufacturing processes.
- Experience developing and leading significant automation or manufacturing technology investments, including business-case development, implementation, and benefits realization.
- Experience leading manufacturing organizations through rapid business growth, factory expansion, or new capability development.
- Experience implementing MES, manufacturing data analytics, AI-enabled applications, or Industry 4.0 solutions that deliver measurable operational value.
- Demonstrated success in cost reduction and productivity improvement programs.
- Experience leading manufacturing teams through facility expansion or business growth transformation.
