Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support current and future HVDC manufacturing equipment and processes. In this role, you will help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production by supporting equipment changes, troubleshooting issues, driving process improvements, and working closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and supplier partners.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge, practical problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support current and future HVDC manufacturing equipment and processes. In this role, you will help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production by supporting equipment changes, troubleshooting issues, driving process improvements, and working closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and supplier partners.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge, practical problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of equipment and process changes to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain and improve manufacturing processes and equipment, including product and variant changes.
  • Provide first-line engineering support for equipment breakdowns and production issues.
  • Support maintenance technicians with calibration and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Train and support production operators in the correct use of equipment and processes.
  • Work with equipment suppliers to resolve technical issues and implement improvements.
  • Support manufacturing IT systems and provide first-line support during downtime.
  • Create and update work instructions, risk assessments, and operator training documents.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Support manufacturing operations during second shift hours.

Required Qualifications / Experience

  • Significant experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Experience with automated assembly equipment.
  • HNC/HND or degree in Electrical, Electronic, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment and technical troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety requirements and compliance standards.
  • Experience supporting production assembly equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and across functions.
  • Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.

Desired Qualifications / Experience

  • Education, HNC/HND or Engineering Degree in an electrical/electronic-related discipline.
  • Understanding of manufacturing IT systems integration.
  • Experience with Desoutter tooling, advanced manufacturing methods, and ISO standards.
  • SAP and Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with HVDC product assembly processes advantage.

Work Pattern

  • Permanent on-site role, 5 days per week, second shift (14:00 to 22:00 Mon - Thursday and 11:00 – 16:00 Friday)
