Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control is looking for an Associate Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to lead the Tooling Design team (≈10 engineers). The team uses Creo to design and develop the special tooling—assembly fixtures, drill jigs, mill fixtures, etc.—required to manufacture missiles and missile‑launching systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the tooling team to deliver high‑quality fixtures that meet aggressive program and production schedules.
  • Drive continuous‑improvement of tooling processes using data‑driven analysis, lean principles, and industry best‑practice adoption.
  • Provide technical guidance to tool designers
  • Coordinate cross‑functional solutions between Production Operations, Program Engineering, and other stakeholders to resolve tooling challenges.
  • Analyze and resolve programmatic issues, ranging from routine changes to complex, high‑risk problems.
  • Lead investigations into design, producibility, and assembly challenges; develop corrective action plans and verify implementation.
  • Partner with Global Supply Chain to align procurement with tooling requirements and delivery dates.
  • Maintain transparent communication of key milestones, risks, and status updates to senior leadership and program stakeholders.

Desired Skills

  • Final Secret Clearance
  • SAP experience
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., Creo, Solidworks, Catia)
  • Proficiency with GD&T
  • Mechanical Design Experience (Tooling or Engineering hardware)
  • Experience with PLM/ERP systems (e.g., Windchill, SAP)
  • Knowledge of NC Programming
  • Knowledge of QA processes
  • Lean six sigma training, i.e., Green Belt or Black Belt certified

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
