Job Description
We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer – Senior to join our team specializing in manufacturing for our Cummins’ business in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead end-to-end manufacturing projects, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and business objectives
- Drive process optimization initiatives that increase throughput, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency
- Implement advanced manufacturing solutions through data-driven analysis, simulation tools, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver on capital projects and process enhancements
- Develop standardized manufacturing procedures that ensure consistency, reliability, and operational excellence
- Integrate product design and engineering drawings to create efficient, scalable production processes
- Champion workplace safety and ergonomic design practices to build a proactive, injury-free culture
- Mentor team members and stakeholders in problem-solving techniques and continuous improvement practices
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Strong expertise in manufacturing engineering principles, with the ability to lead process improvements and engineering initiatives
- Proven capability to apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and GD&T to solve complex operational challenges
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across diverse teams, influencing decisions and driving alignment
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills using structured, data-driven approaches
- Experience balancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost considerations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
