Job Description

Overall Responsibilities:

Assist the Continuous Improvement Manager, Operations Manager and Department Managers to identify and problem solve improvement opportunities in the areas of Safety, Quality, Production and Customer Delivery.

Learn and use Lean Manufacturing Principles to identify and eliminate waste in a manufacturing plant.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Build skills in Lean and Continuous Improvement to assist in driving improvements in a manufacturing facility.
  • Earn White Belt and Orange Belt Certifications that will build valuable skills for career development no matter your field or industry.
  • Learn and understand Quality Performance Data and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Data and how it impacts the effectiveness of a manufacturing plant.
  • Build and provide Reports for Quality and Operational Efficiency that enable Operations Management to identify opportunities and improve performance.
  • Learn to build queries from ERP and other systems to develop real-time reporting.
  • Learn to Build Power BI Reports that will present data to Operations Managers in a meaningful manner.
  • Build Video and Standard Operating Procedure Training materials that stabilize and standardize operations.
  • Assist the Continuous Improvement Manager in Lean Events and Activities throughout the plant: Kaizen facilitation, Problem solving Events, 5S events, Training Program Development,
  • Learn and Understand Lean Management Systems and how to sustain improvement initiatives, especially after project or improvement event activities.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering, Operations Management or related field.
  • Entering Junior or Senior year
  • Self-Motivated Employee
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Willingness to learn Data Analysis Tools and Power BI report-building skills.
  • Respectful of employees, vendors and customers
