Manufacturing Engineer’s role is to effectively initiate, lead, coordinate, and integrate the industrialization of all equipment and machine installed in the facility, including the machines and facilities readiness for production. Additionally to support the process improvement activities to ensure operations runs smoothly, by optimizing processes, manpower ratio, throughput, space and equipment to gain maximum capacity and minimize cost.

Position executes integration, industrialization, optimization and improvement of space, equipment and machine at the GKN Engine Systems Malaysia facility.

Job Responsibilities

  • Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with HSE policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing process solutions, providing technical support for production and new product introduction.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean initiatives, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to enhance quality, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Lead and coordinate infrastructure, machine installation, FAT/IAT, and Industry 4.0 projects with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support capacity planning, time studies, process optimization, and downtime reduction to maximize operational performance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to improve product quality, process efficiency, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Analyze manufacturing data, workflows, costs, and resource utilization to improve productivity and reduce waste.
  • Manage technical specifications, documentation, equipment layouts, and integration of digital technologies, including RFID and SAP systems.
  • Engage with vendors, customers, and cross-functional teams to support project delivery and operational excellence.
  • Deploy and improve Configuration Management (CM) standards, conduct audits, and resolve configuration-related issues through global collaboration.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, NDT, or related field) with at least 6 years of experience in Manufacturing, Product, or Process Engineering.
  • Strong technical expertise in manufacturing processes, product requirements, machinery, and process improvement.Proficient in PFMEA, Control Plans, RCCA, 7QC Tools, SPC, Kaizen, Lean methodologies, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Familiar with AS9100, ISO9001, AS9110, AMS2430, AMS2750, ANSI/AWS 17.1, or equivalent quality standards.Skilled in technical analysis, documentation, process control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues, provide customer/supplier technical support, and represent the business in external engagements.
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Effective team player and leader with experience in coaching, knowledge sharing, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Capable of working independently, supervising others, and contributing to project planning and execution.
  • Committed to continuous professional development, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Train-the-Trainer certification, Zero Defect Practitioner, Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent capability is an advantage.
