The Manufacturing Engineer III is a problem-solver, facilitator, change agent, innovator, designer and project manager. Responsible for performing these functions on issues as they are assigned (or arise) in the designated area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the successful completion projects which are broad in nature. The engineer will typically define the project, set the goals, and communicate the project to all affected parties clearly and concisely.
  • Evaluates need, analyzes options, develops plan, develops Appropriation Request (AR) and manages implementation of project until completed within the allotted time frame.
  • Assists, guides, and mentors other engineers and support personnel (Technicians, Maintenance, Tool and Die, etc.) in complex technical matters as needed.
  • Develops, installs and maintains optimum processes for the safe manufacture of quality product in a productive manner.
  • Develops procedures and provides training on new processes, tools and equipment, including but not limited to defining Preventative and Predictive Maintenance requirements and mechanical evaluation of processes and equipment, as needed.
  • Coordinates successful corrections to production problems using sound manufacturing engineering problem-solving techniques and practices. When needed, develops alternate methods or processes to allow emergency continued production.
  • Alternate solutions are evaluated using sound engineering economy techniques.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • General industrial engineering functions as necessary.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor degree in engineering or another related field. Mechanical engineering preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years of applicable engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Required Skills:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Good written and oral communications.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop plans for accomplishing assigned work and set priorities with a propersense of urgency.
  • Ability to make timely decisions.
  • Average to above average PC Skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of machine programming systems.
  • Knowledge of the data systems.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Some travel required.
