Requisition Summary

  • Continual improvement of manufacturing process safety, quality, productivity and cost.
  • Preparation, coordination, and implementation of expense and capital budget projects.
  • Reviews new and revised product designs to assess impact on manufacturing processes then readies facility and processes for production volumes.
  • Plant layouts, facility rearrangements, and production equipment design, installation and validation.
  • Monitors maintenance activity to ensure machine capability, reliability and durability is maintained.
  • Continuous process improvement through application of Lean and Six Sigma methodology.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Prompt mitigation of identified safety, quality and productivity issues.
  • Research quality problems to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Define how assembly processes should be performed to assemble parts to specification safely and efficiently with input from production personnel.
  • Determine process variables which require monitoring to determine if the processes are in control and capable.
  • Research capital budget ideas, prepare justification, design/purchase equipment, and coordinate installation.
  • Review major product changes and provide input to Design Engineering on manufacturability and develop manufacturing processes.
  • Rearrange assembly areas and design new production equipment to accommodate product changes and/or improve process flow.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree required (Mechanical or Manufacturing/Industrial preferred).
  • In depth product and process knowledge highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Required 3-5+ years related experience.
  • Prior background in manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Suites including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proficiency in Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and data analysis tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to successfully apply Six Sigma tools and methodology is a plus
