We are seeking hands-on Advanced Manufacturing Engineers to drive operational transformation across Vertiv's EMEA manufacturing plants.

Combining Industrial Engineering, Lean, digitisation and automation, the role will focus on unlocking capacity, improving productivity, stabilising production ramp-ups and delivering measurable business benefits.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working on the shopfloor, solving problems and turning improvement opportunities into sustainable results.

Location & Travel

The role will initially support 2–3 assigned EMEA manufacturing plants and will require approximately 50% travel across EMEA.

Why Join Us?

  • Play a key role in transforming a rapidly growing EMEA manufacturing network.
  • Work directly with plant teams and senior leadership to deliver tangible operational improvements.
  • Drive projects across Lean, automation, digitisation and Industrial Engineering.
  • Have the autonomy to develop and implement solutions that make a measurable difference.
  • Build experience across multiple manufacturing sites and develop your career towards future operational leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Engineering & Lean Transformation

  • Lead shopfloor improvement initiatives, including Kaizen, VSM, 5S, standard work and visual management.
  • Drive line balancing, time studies, capacity analysis, labour optimisation, layout and material-flow improvements.
  • Identify bottlenecks, reduce waste and improve productivity, quality and lead times.
  • Support the deployment of Lean Operating Systems and daily management routines across manufacturing sites.

Digitisation & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing through MES, digital work instructions, production dashboards, data acquisition and connected equipment.
  • Identify and support automation opportunities involving robotics, cobots, automated material handling and test systems.
  • Support automation and digitisation projects from business case and concept through implementation, commissioning and handover.
  • Use operational data to improve visibility, decision-making and manufacturing performance.

Ramp-Up & Operational Performance

  • Support new product introductions, production transfers and manufacturing ramp-ups.
  • Drive production readiness, bottleneck removal and process stabilisation.
  • Develop standard work, SOPs and training materials to ensure sustainable process improvements.
  • Track project benefits and work with Finance to validate improvements in capacity, productivity, cost and quality.

Coaching & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with operators, supervisors, engineers and plant leadership to implement improvements.
  • Coach and develop plant teams in Lean tools, problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Share best practices and develop standard solutions that can be replicated across the EMEA network.

What Success Looks Like

During the first 12 months, you will be expected to:

  • Complete Industrial Engineering and digital maturity assessments across assigned plants.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, capacity, quality, cost or lead time.
  • Implement and sustain key Lean management practices.
  • Deliver or develop business cases for digital and automation projects.
  • Establish repeatable improvement standards that can be deployed across other EMEA sites.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operational Excellence, Lean or manufacturing process improvement.
  • Proven experience delivering measurable manufacturing improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, VSM, standard work, line balancing and problem-solving.
  • Experience in at least two of the following: MES, digital manufacturing, automation/robotics, data acquisition, capacity modelling or Lean transformation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate operational improvements into measurable business benefits.
  • Fluent English and willingness to travel across EMEA.

Preferred Experience

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in multi-site manufacturing, automotive, high-mix/high-volume manufacturing, greenfield projects or operational transformation.
  • Knowledge of PLC/SCADA, industrial networking, robotics, TPM, simulation or advanced analytics.
  • Experience developing business cases and working with Finance to validate project benefits.

Initial Deployment

Initially working across 2–3 assigned EMEA plants, you will partner with Plant Management, AME, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Quality, Supply Chain and Finance teams to identify and deliver high-impact improvements.

The focus will be on capacity, productivity, material flow, automation, digitisation and manufacturing performance.
