Job Description

Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America. By combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost.

Following our $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation, Hadrian is rapidly expanding our manufacturing footprint, launching new capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, additive manufacturing, and more, while scaling our Factory-as-a-Service platform to transform how critical products are built.

Backed by leading investors including JPMorgan Chase, Valor Equity Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, 137 Ventures, Lux Capital, T. Rowe Price, and Morgan Stanley, we’re building the future of American manufacturing—and looking for exceptional people to help make it happen.

If you’re ready to take on the most challenging and rewarding work of your career while helping create American manufacturing jobs for generations to come, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

The Role:

We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to be our boots on the ground for AM production at a Hadrian facility located on a customer site in Texarkana. You will own the success of every build that runs through the facility, across both polymer (FDM) and metal (LPBF). That means you run the machines, prep build files, troubleshoot failures onsite, disposition non-conformances, and write the work instructions and standards that keep production consistent and in spec. This role reports to the Director of AM Applications Engineering in Los Angeles, but the job lives onsite in Texarkana.

What You’ll Do:

  • Be the boots on the ground for the AM machines onsite, across both polymer (FDM) and metal (LPBF).
  • Own build success for both polymer and metal components. This includes COCs, FAIR, compliance, and parts being in spec.
  • Prep build files when needed.
  • Troubleshoot build failures and production issues on the premises.
  • Be the first line of defense for creating and dispositioning NCRs.
  • Develop the work instructions for each part that runs through the facility.
  • Create onsite standards for support removal, part cleaning, inspection, and other post-processing steps.
  • Influence DfAM inputs to parts to improve manufacturability and build success.
  • Assist with LPBF and FDM machine maintenance, turnover, and setup as needed.
  • Keep build records and document what works so the facility keeps improving.
  • Coordinate with the LA-based AM Applications Engineering team, Quality, and Operations to keep onsite execution aligned with program requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years in additive manufacturing, process or manufacturing engineering, or applications engineering.
  • Direct hands-on experience with LPBF and/or FDM systems, including materials, process parameters, machine operation, and common failure modes.
  • Experience owning build execution and troubleshooting build failures in a production environment.
  • Able to prep and adjust build files when needed.
  • Familiarity with quality processes: COCs, FAIR, NCR creation and dispositioning, and parts conformance to spec.
  • Able to write clear work instructions and set onsite process standards.
  • Hands-on DfAM understanding, with the ability to evaluate parts for AM suitability and manufacturability.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance interpretation, and inspection planning.
  • Able to work independently and deliver on commitments with a leadership team based in another location.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required (ITAR).

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Experience working with the government or at customer sites. The ability to thrive with minimal resources and oversight.

Benefits for Full-time Employees

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees
  • 401k
  • Relocation support may be provided for certain situations, based on business need.
  • Flexible vacation policy
  • Equity

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. About Hadrian

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.

We recently raised $260 million dollar Series C to accelerate this mission. We are excited to be launching a new Factory in Mesa, Arizona, a 270,000 square foot facility that will create 350 new jobs immediately. We are opening a new headquarters to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to serve naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.

Hadrian works with startups, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and major defense contractors across space, shipbuilding, and aviation to scale production, reduce costs, and accelerate delivery on mission-critical programs. We are backed by leading investors including Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz. Our fast-growing team is united by a shared mission to reindustrialize American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond!
