Manufacturing Engineer

Eagan, MN | Contract-to-Hire | $45-$55/hr + OT

Konik is partnering with an established firm that produces complex, ruggedized electro-mechanical equipment for critical environments that is seeking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to their team. This role offers the opportunity to work across manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, process improvement, and new product introduction activities in a growing environment.

The successful candidate will serve as a shared engineering resource, collaborating with operations, design, technicians, and suppliers to improve quality, enhance manufacturability, and help scale production capabilities related to new and existing programs.

While this is a contract-to-hire opportunity, our client has a strong record of converting contractors to employees, and this is a permanent role on the team.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

• Drive manufacturing process development and continuous improvement initiatives for electro-mechanical assemblies and related products.
• Partner with suppliers and internal teams to investigate defects, implement corrective actions, and improve overall product quality.
• Develop manufacturing routings, labor estimates, workflows, and production documentation to support operational efficiency.
• Participate in product design reviews and provide recommendations that improve manufacturability, serviceability, and quality.
• Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and data-driven problem solving on production and supplier-related issues.
• Support new technology evaluations, process scaling efforts, and initiatives that expand internal manufacturing capabilities.
• Collaborate with technicians, manufacturing personnel, and engineering teams to train, document, and standardize best practices.

Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Approximately 5+ years of engineering experience within manufacturing, quality, industrial, or related engineering functions.
• Experience supporting electro-mechanical products, electronic assemblies, or similar technical manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process improvement methodologies, and root cause analysis tools.
• Experience with CAD software and manufacturing documentation development.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work across operations, engineering, suppliers, and production teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other engineering analysis tools.

Preferred Experience:

• Supplier quality engineering, APQP, or PPAP experience.
• Experience supporting defense, regulated, or highly technical manufacturing environments.
