Job Description
Summary/Purpose
Plans, directs, and coordinates technical support for the manufacturing processes by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
• Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Confers with management, engineering, Koyo Seiko, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, new installation, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential including machine capability studies, etc.
• Plans, implements and tracks Capital and Non-Capital cost reduction projects and reports to management on a regular basis.
• Support 5-S, Kaizen Team and Koyo Production System, TSI6949 and ISO14000 efforts throughout the Plant.
• Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the Engineering Supervisor

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in science or engineering from a four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training, or Associate’s degree in science or engineering from two/four year college or university; and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or High School Diploma or GED, and seven to ten years of related experience and/or training; or ten to twelve years of related experience and/or training.

• Work is mostly performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards, and with substantial time spent working on a computer. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.
• The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
• Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 10-20% of time.
