As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for developing and maintaining methods, operating sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You'll work closely with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and new products, and you'll use engineering principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements. Your expertise in lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and achieving higher levels of productivity and cost-effectiveness. You'll develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results, and assess work methods, procedures, and policies to identify root cause issues and solutions that ensure operational success.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Excellent reading & understanding of the manufacturing drawings.
  • Exposure to any 3D modeling tool (UG/Solid works/Pro-E/AutoCAD/Inventor)
    • Prioritizes Review of ECOs and expedites release of ECO, in the implementation cycle.
    • Review ECO's for content completeness, Structure of Bill of Material, customer impact (internal and external), organizational impact, and functional product impact
    • Any issues they find are logged and the ECR is returned to the EC Engineer to address the issue.
    • Coordinates with other impacted EC approver; verifies that appropriate CIB (Change Implementation Board) members are included on the ECO based on Product Family, Product Line, Change Category, planner/buyer and product option tree, as applicable.
    • Communicates issues logged with EC Analysts or EC engineers to ensure for correctness of the ECO
    • Analyzes part structure to determine the scope / impact of product changes; conducts where-used searches.
    • Trains / coaches ECO participants in their functional areas; advises ECO participants on possible solutions for ECO related problems, issues or situations; routinely mediates conflicts between ECO participants. Evaluates ECO process for continuous improvement opportunities; assists in KPI development and document the process.
    • Regularly participates in ECM awareness sessions.
    • Corp doc’s/ Material Specification doc’s release/updates as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 2-4 years of related experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong conceptual knowledge and technical experience for everyday problem-solving on the job   

  • Solid interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly explain complex information to others  

  • Demonstrated ability to write and track ECO/ECR’s.

  • Ability to identify the errors in the ECO/ECR documentation.

  • Ability to Understand/modify/define the Product/System Configurations. Well versed with Manufacturing Processes and Methods.

  • Demonstrated computer skills to include MS Office /or other software / systems necessary for the job execution in day to day transactions

  • Knowledge of PDM and BOMs & item master theory.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and materials to include basic lean.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and cleanroom protocol.
  • Knowledge of cross-cultural communications.
