The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for interfacing with PD on body structure design and managing our integrators to deliver GVOSS compliant tooling to the Assembly Plants.
Collaboration and Interactions:
• Product Development →Collaborate on feasible manufacturing product designs
• Integrators and Suppliers →Collaborate with tooling integrators and internal/external part suppliers
• MP&L →Collaborate on material flow, dunnage and racking strategy/designs
• Ind. Eng./ERGO/Safety →Collaborate on operator workstations and processes
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Product feasibility and design for manufacturing
• Content required (tooling/facilities/cycle line layout) to deliver new program
• Overall program strategy
• Cost required to deliver new program (including useful life requirements)
• Cycle line layout (CAD) delivery through <FDJ>
• Simulations / Throughput Analysis
• Managing Integrators through Design and Implementation
• Delivering all Launch metrics to the Plant.
Workflow and Processes:
• Understand and align on program content/strategy
• Interface with PD and program teams to incorporate BCE manufacturing product design requirements and enablers to reduce risk, cost, and complexity
• Manage Tooling Integrators from SOW development, kickoff, DPA5, virtual simulation, tooling design/build, buy-off, installation, and plant implementation
• Lead issue management through VIMs, DPA5 and AIMS to appropriate resolutions
• Deliver cycle time/throughput, joining/dimensional compliance, repair standards, process documentation, and safety/ERGO

• Detailed costing of manufacturing content required for PS/PSC/PA/Qform
• Tooling buyoffs, installation plans and launch implementation (DCV/TT/PP/MP1/MP2/OKTB)
