Job Description

Join a multidisciplinary team at GE HealthCare that is building the world’s fastest ceramic scintillators for CT detectors. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support CT Detector manufacturing operations in West Milwaukee, WI, with a strong focus on quality, yield improvement, and process stability.

In this role, you will partner closely with operations, maintenance, EHS, and engineering teams to support day-to-day manufacturing performance while leading process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. You will play a key role in defect reduction, scrap reduction, and driving data-based decisions to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing processes that meet current and future customer demand.

This position is well suited for an engineer who enjoys hands-on manufacturing support, structured problem solving, and collaboration across global teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day manufacturing operations for CT Detector Pack manufacturing lines, including defect resolution, root cause analysis, and yield improvement

  • Drive process capability growth to meet future customer demand while simplifying and standardizing manufacturing processes

  • Lead early defect detection efforts by identifying, acquiring, and controlling critical process inputs (critical X’s) to ensure stable outputs

  • Plan and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to develop and optimize process parameters

  • Coordinate fabrication of parts and support commissioning, operation, and troubleshooting of manufacturing and test equipment

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost

  • Partner closely with production teams, maintenance, EHS, and engineering to implement corrective and preventive actions

  • Support OEE tracking, scrap reduction initiatives, and 5S activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field

  • Minimum of 1 years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma tools

  • Prior experience in machining, mechanical manufacturing, biomedical, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated manufacturing environments

  • Experience supporting high-volume or precision manufacturing processes

  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and data-driven decision making

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
