Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Function/Dept Purpose Statement:

Operations/Manufacturing of Optical fiber

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead root cause analysis activity related to Process & Equipment failures through Problem Solving approaches (DMAIC, MEE etc.).
  • Trouble shoots material, process and equipment issues, identifies root cause and implements corrective actions to improve yield, uptime & safety.
  • Identifying & implement process control measures including statistical process control (SPC) techniques to ensure consistent quality & reduce process variation.
  • Uses rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps.
  • Supports new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation and training.
  • Assures safety of operators and equipment and complies with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Proficient in use of statistical data analysis and DOE in process problem solving and process/product improvement.
  • Provides general engineering and manufacturing skills and knowledge (understands theories and fundamentals), and capable of leading projects to get to root cause of issues and put permanent solutions in place.
  • Recommends and implements permanent solutions to long term performance issues and improves existing and new technologies and processes.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through scrap reduction, and process efficiency gains.
  • Participate in automation / digitization / Industry 4.0 projects for manufacturing processes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) from premium institute
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodology & Statistical analysis
  • Excellent problem-solving & analytical skill with ability to resolve complex process issues.
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams & stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of Safety & Quality
  • MS Access knowledge
  • Worked in Similar capacity & Responsibility for at least 6yrs. to 8 yrs. in a firm of repute.
