As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles the world expects from us. Within our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. What you'll do...
Lead problem solving to assist plants and implementation teams in resolving tooling, equipment and conveyor performance issues and downtime
Coordinate resources to find root cause and fixes, manage and breakdown problems into items that can be validated. Determine proper validation methods
Use FIS plant monitoring software to review cycle times of equipment, review and follow up project installations
As part of a team, review risk assessments and evaluate equipment safety
Assist in training manufacturing personnel
Read and modify prints, Auto CAD
Lead New Model Engine Programs for M1-M3, MPC Engine Assembly and Niche Engine Assembly
Lead I4 Engine Assembly Cost Study responses (PS/PTC/PA) for M1-M3 Programs, MPC Engine Assembly and Niche Engine Assembly
Global Change Control / WERS coordinator for Dearborn Engine Plant
Maintain Engine Assembly Complexity Management – Bubble Chart for MPC Engine Assembly and Niche Engine Assembly for full engine builds as well as long block service engine builds
Review all In-Plant Engineering Alerts
Review all Product Engineering Concerns. Assess for MPC or Niche Engine Assembly impact. If necessary, provide cost response and upon approval, write project and implement process changes to implement product engineering requirement
Lead interface with Product Development engineers for product change requirements due to new model, quality, warranty, and cost objectives and the potential impact on the existing manufacturing processes for MPC and Niche Engine Assembly
Perform feasibility evaluations for new model components
Support M4+ New Model Engine Programs PTME team – provide in-plant expertise for engine processing: Process Development, Ergo, material handling, safety, packaging
Lead APN / PN process for BEW, CIB and Quality projects
Manage BEW/CIB and Quality capitol and expense project financials / indicated costs – across multiple projects simultaneously
Lead design/runoff/delivery/launch of new or retooled equipment
Issue and manage FWO-factory work orders in TWOS for project implementation
Resolve engineering & program delivery issues
Lead coordination of interrelated items (material handling, work station engineering, manufacturing builds, back-up hand tools, gauging, tooling)
Lead on-time delivery of all OEM documentation (R&M, spare parts, manuals, final installation drawings, tool set-up drawings)
Apply technical standards and bill of process to existing plant manufacturing processes
Lead machine sign-off & issue resolution
Lead informative and respectful communications w/ plant team (launch, operators, skilled trades, quality, UAW reps etc.)
Lead documentation development for manufacturing process changes: OIS, WES, JSA, Visual Factory, PFMEA, DCP, MODAPTS-APT development, RFMEA, MIDAS, EVP’s, MTC, SCCAF development
Develop and implement efficiency actions (ie: manpower reductions)
Co-lead development of APT manpower plan for process changes, new model programs etc
GSPAS (VPS) Co-Ordinator for engine assembly to ensure accuracy of current process within the system
Support Engine Assembly production as necessary
Lead development of projects within i-ERP for plant project improvements
Lead project shutdown planning – trades allocation, timing, manage TWOS for work order funding
Lead engine assembly response for Asset Audits for accounting purposes
Develop spare parts requirements for new installations and initiate 1295 requests accordingly
Work overtime and weekends as needed
You'll have...
High school diploma or GED or 2 Year Technical Associate degree
1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products
3 or more years of Assembly Engineering or Process Engineering experience (internship and coop experience will be considered)
Even better, you may have...
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or Automation Engineering
Min 5 Years experience in assembly
Familiar with PLC/CNC (Siemens/ Allen-Bradley), VFD, Servo, Profinet, ABB and FANUC Robots considered a plus but not required
Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, use AutoCAD and solid modeling.
Validated ability to troubleshoot equipment and continuously evaluate for process improvements
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping experience
Understanding of 8D, FMEA, and DMAIC processes
Familiar with TQM and Kaizen methods
One or more years of experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
Knowledge of simulation modeling and visual factory management preferred
System Access Requirements/knowledge of: Teamcenter (3D modelling), Modapts-APT (manpower planning), GSPAS-VPS (process allocation), i-ERP (project writing), Aurora (requisition writing), AutoCAD, TWOS (factory work order writing), QLS-CM (unit type configuration), MIDAS (machine acceptance checklists), WERS (Alerts/Concerns), Docusign, 3D part printing

This position is a salary grade 6 - 8 and ranges from $72,480-$162,120
