Leidos is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the CHGB program at our Mechanical Manufacturing Facility (MMF). This role will partner directly with a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to sustain and enhance production of complex precision-machined hardware.

This role supports the production of complex precision-machined hardware and continues to evolve through documentation enhancement, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The selected candidate will support sustained production while helping to stand up new parts and manufacturing processes within the program. The position is well-suited for a manufacturing engineer who values disciplined execution, enjoys improving legacy processes, and is comfortable owning defined program scope under limited supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, refine, and maintain manufacturing process plans within Solumina MES.

  • Create and manage Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM), ensuring alignment with engineering revisions and configuration control requirements.

  • Support tooling and fixture design efforts in collaboration with senior engineers and CNC programmers.

  • Participate in process reviews, producibility assessments, and risk mitigation activities.

  • Support introduction of new parts and associated manufacturing processes within the CHGB program.

  • Provide production floor support and assist with nonconformance investigations and root cause corrective actions (RCCA).

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with CNC Programming, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production teams.

  • Ensure manufacturing documentation aligns with internal release processes and engineering standards.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for cycle time reduction, waste elimination, and process standardization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field with less than 2 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience.

  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation and application.

  • Experience supporting precision machined components in a production environment.

  • Ability to operate under limited supervision while managing assigned scope and deliverables.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or refining manufacturing process plans within an MES system (Solumina preferred).

  • Experience managing MBOM updates and engineering revision changes.

  • Exposure to tooling and fixture design for CNC machining operations.

  • Experience supporting 3-axis, 5-axis, or mill-turn machining environments.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Costpoint preferred).

  • Experience participating in root cause corrective action (RCCA) activities.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
