Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly)

EXCELLENT opportunity!

We are seeking an innovative engineer with hands-on skills to support our production processes that make sub-assemblies for automotive and industrial vehicles. Duties will focus on supporting product teams and improving existing processes to meet company objectives. This position requires the ability to diagnose complex problems then design and implement their solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support, develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods
  • Evaluate equipment & processes to eliminate failures and to increase productivity
  • Design and analyze workflow, work force utilization, space requirements, and layout of equipment for maximum efficiency
  • Participate in cost reduction activities
  • Work closely with members of manufacturing and quality to support company targets for safety, quality, cost and delivery
  • Sustain good relationships with support groups and vendors
  • Other duties will be assigned

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Good hands-on engineering abilities
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Reverse engineering skill
  • Communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Ability to interpret drawings of components, tools and equipment
  • Experience balancing operator work loops
  • Good organizational skills
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Experience with 3D modeling is a plus
  • General shop fabrication skill is a plus
  • Experience with DC nutrunners is a plus
  • Robotic welding experience is a plus
  • Ability to perform occasional lifting and ergonomic movements (i.e., twisting, turning, reaching, bending)

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering field is required
