Arthrex is actively searching for an engineering student to support the Quality Validation Engineering team in Ave Maria, FL (AMIE). This team is responsible for supporting all equipment qualifications and process validations for component manufacturing. We are searching for a co-op pursuing an engineering degree to support the Validation Engineering team at AMIE. The successful candidate will prepare, execute, and document validations with guidance from the engineering staff. The individual will perform statistical data analysis and will be detail-oriented in the execution and documentation of the validation protocols. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner. This co-op will run from July 2026 – December 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Ave Maria, FL facility.

Main Objective:

To learn the manufacturing process of medical devices (implants and instruments) and how to qualify/validate from machining to final cleaning in a medical device company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ongoing CNC machining, laser marking and welding, injection molding, and cleaning validations to validate systems/processes used for manufacturing of implants and instruments for MPIs, insourcing, and process improvement projects.
  • Assist in protocol & report writing, data assessment, and content.
  • Inspect parts for validation studies.
  • Perform Minitab statistical data analysis.
  • Assist in Software Validation of Inspection measurement systems.
  • Assist in writing of protocol deviations and investigation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Biomedical engineering, or a recent graduate, required. Junior or above preferred.
    (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Strong technical writing skills preferred.
  • Prior statistical data analysis experience preferred (Minitab).
  • Strong communication skills.


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
