Job Description

Job Title: Buyer II

As a Buyer II , you will be responsible for both tactical and strategic aspects of purchasing. This includes supporting supplier Material Review Requests (MRR), and Engineering Change Notices (ECN) for assigned production cells. Your role will be critical in removing roadblocks for production and ensuring strategic responsibilities around pricing are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the purchasing process for assigned production cells.
  • Supports supplier MRR and ECN processes.
  • Work proactively to identify and remove production roadblocks.
  • Execute strategic initiatives related to pricing and cost saving.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any issues.
  • Support in forecasting the demand for materials and services, and the timely placement of purchase orders.
  • Act as a point of contact for vendors regarding order acknowledgment and confirmation.
  • Maintain and update order promise dates regularly.
  • Assist in resolving any pricing discrepancies with vendors.
  • Provide support to production cells as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to avoid shortages and excesses.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with relevant laws and ethical standards.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities in line with quality, service, and supply constraints
  • Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives for cost savings improvements through waste elimination.
  • Solid understanding of purchasing processes and strategic planning.
  • Experience in managing supplier relationships and negotiations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle transactions and processes related to department.
  • Demonstrated effort toward self-improvement by gaining new knowledge/skills and accepting new assignments.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in production leadership, planning, purchasing, or a relevant supply chain function.
  • Previous scheduling or planning experience in a lean manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions: (especially manufacturing and field service positions)

  • Office and Factory environment.
  • Safety glasses required while on factory floor
  • Some overtime may be required

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 58500.00-108500.00
