Job Description

You are responsible for assisting in the hiring, training, and instructing department employees in their job functions in addition to working on the core functions of the position. As a supervisor you will assist in the planning and delegation of work assignments, orientation of new employees and set-up of tools, equipment, methods, and procedures in work areas. Leads employee discipline and performance discussions in collaboration with HR. This position is supporting 1st shift from 7AM - 3:30PM Mon - Fri. Flexible days and hours may be required.

Responsibilities

Safety

  • Communicate, promote, and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies while ensuring adherence by all staff
  • Administration of all required safety training
  • Incident/near miss/proactive event reporting
  • Participate in Health & Safety Committee meetings

Operational Excellence

  • Adhere to daily production schedule, ensuring line efficiency is achieved and required output is met
  • Monitor and report Factory KPI’s.
  • SOP development & implementation
  • Quick win process improvement owner

Inventory

  • Manage the daily review of receipts, cylinder scanning, production work orders, material movements and consumptions activity ensuring accuracy and reconciling any discrepancies against production logs
  • Facilitate inventory cycle counts for fast moving materials
  • Participate in inventory reconciliations, variance investigations, and identify root cause for discrepancies. Implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Review and complete of month end close check list with Finance.

Leadership

  • Responsible for the overall Supervision of shop-floor employees
  • Coordinate with Temp agency as needed for all temporary staffing needs
  • Maintain employee /attendance list, track and monitor employee performance (Coach for success and coach for improvement).
  • Work closely with payroll and HR by reviewing and approving employee hours and PTO in the payroll system.
  • Responsible for the PMP Process for Leads, including goal setting, mid-year and year-end performance reviews
  • Work with management and HR to administer recognition, employee development planning, and disciplinary actions related to staff
  • Responsible for the administration of Training & Development for all local market requirements as well as acting as the Training Rep. with Global HQ on all things related to Learning & Development as required

Other

  • Ensure all component & cylinder inventory (gaylords, cylinder racks, pallets, etc.) is clearly and accurately identified with SKU, status and quantity
  • Meets or exceeds department targets set by leadership
  • Works with cross functional departments in a timely manner in person or via email
  • Ensures equipment and supplies are in good functional order.
  • Daily reporting and explanation of all KPIs in the Daily Factory Meeting
  • Analyze, resolve, and assist with work problems within your team
  • Ensure all cleaning activities are completed daily and all cells are maintained in a clean and orderly manner
  • Other duties as assigned

The expected compensation range for this position is $74,000 - $106,000 per year.

Confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.

Qualifications

  • Experience and Expertise Requirements:
  • High School Graduate and equivalent and/or 3 to 5 years related experience.
  • Bachelors Degree (Engineering) preferred
  • Warehouse Management System experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environment.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and leadership mindset.
  • Must be knowledgeable in administrative/operational procedures such as work schedules, set-ups, safety, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Should have strong written, verbal, people skills, and other technical skills to properly direct, assist, and train personnel.
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office required specifically Power point and Excel.
  • Previous experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Ability to lift 30-50 lbs.
