Brief Description

The Manufacturer’s Representative Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales team's activities and strategies to increase the company's revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment, Selection, and Onboarding of Reps

  • Evaluate existing Rep Network
  • Provide product training, enable technical knowledge transfer, provide sales tools and educate on company processes.

Training, Support, and Enablement

  • Provide ongoing technical training on products, applications, specifications, and competitive advantages
  • Offer field support, such as joint customer visits, technical assistance during complex sales cycles, or coordination with internal engineering/application support teams.

Performance Management and Accountability

  • Set clear sales targets, quotas, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Monitor sales performance, pipeline activity, and results

Relationship Management and Communication

  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with reps to foster loyalty and priority focus on the company's products
  • Facilitate regular communication

Sales Strategy, Planning, and Execution

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow sales through the rep network, including territory planning, target account strategies, and market penetration initiatives.
  • Support major deals by providing technical expertise, pricing guidance, and direct involvement in negotiations.

Market Intelligence and Feedback Loop

  • Collect insights from the field on customer requirements, emerging applications, competitive threats, and industry trends—critical in technical markets where products evolve quickly.

Administrative and Compliance Oversight

  • Manage contracts, commissions, and payments accurately and on time to maintain rep satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with agreements, legal requirements, and company policies.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Ability to negotiate and close deals effectively.
  • Knowledge of local competition and general industry trends.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing technologies and processes.
