Job Description

The Manual Mill Machinist operates manual milling machines to fabricate parts. The machinist loads parts in the machine, cycles the machine, and detects malfunctions, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
Shift Hours:
This is a day shift position. Hours are 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM. (Overtime as needed)
Functional Job Duties:
  • Plans machining from work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and drawings
  • Sets up and operates manual mills by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers
  • Verifies settings and maintains specifications
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows safety procedures
  • Performs inspection of machined products and documents results
  • Completes and maintains paperwork for parts
  • Assists in other work areas to perform fabrication, lay-up, infiltration, furnace operations, and sand blasting tasks

Qualified candidates will have at least 3-5 years of demonstrated experience with manual milling machines.
