Manger, Tax -State Tax Operations (Indirect Tax)
Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and review non-income tax obligations across the Company’s U.S. portfolio . You will be part of the indirect tax team through the coordination of filings, renewals, registrations, and audits, while maintaining compliance with city, county, and state agencies. The role will also include process improvement initiatives, data management, and cross-functional collaboration with accounting, property management, and operations teams.
• Manage the end-to-end compliance for monthly, quarterly, and other periodic tax filings for: sales tax, use tax, gross receipts taxes, commercial activity taxes, personal property taxes, and other non-income based tax returns.
• Manage the compliance calendars, filing databases and work with our outsourced compliance firm to ensure timely compliance and review for accuracy.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the tax department and business operation teams to field tax technical questions related to indirect taxes related to new or renewal of contract review and taxability of services and/or products.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the local tax authorities and agents and the tax department to respond to notice inquiries and audit requests. And effectively manage audits with state and local agencies, gathering data and coordinating responses, escalating issues and working towards resolution.
• Proactively research and interpret new regulations or rate changes in various states and localities affecting existing or new filing obligations.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external service providers to identify process improvements and opportunities for automation.
• Assist with special projects, including system implementations, acquisitions/divestitures, and process documentation.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
