Summary

The Department of Public Safety is recruiting to fill a Management Analyst 1 position within the Director’s Office. This position can be filled in Elko, Carson City, or Las Vegas depending on the candidate chosen and the needs of the agency. The incumbent serves as the Payroll Manager and oversees the research and preparation of complex payroll adjustments; manages repayment of overpayments; develops and revises payroll administrative directions and policies and procedures; trains and supervises payroll clerks performing payroll functions to include interviewing staff, preparing employee evaluations, and developing work performance standards; audits and reviews work of staff for technical accuracy and conformance with established payroll policies and procedures; develops and revises procedures as needed to ensure compliance with federal and state laws; and interprets policies and procedures.

One or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties and graduation from high school or equivalent education.

  1. Conduct research and analyze legislative implications.
  2. Determine software application program needs or requirements.
  3. Review and monitor contracts.
  4. Make recommendations on policy and procedure improvements.
  5. Provide recommendations to management regarding programs and/or work unit activities.
  6. Prepare reports and correspondence.
  7. Perform related duties as assigned.
