At ERM, we are looking for an experienced Managing Technical Consultant, Construction Program Supervisor, based in Indianapolis, to help lead the successful delivery of complex remediation construction and industrial demolition projects throughout Mid-West, with opportunities to support projects across the United States. This is a highly visible leadership role for a construction management professional who thrives in the field, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about driving safe, high-quality project execution. Working alongside Project Managers, engineers, quality assurance professionals, compliance specialists, and safety teams, you will play a critical role in delivering remediation and demolition solutions that help clients manage environmental liabilities, restore properties, and advance redevelopment goals.

As a Technical Managing Consultant, Construction Program Supervisor, you will serve as a trusted field leader responsible for translating project plans into successful execution. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with client expectations, regulatory requirements, and ERM's commitment to excellence.
This role offers the opportunity to oversee complex remediation technologies, large-scale demolition projects, hazardous materials management, and site restoration efforts while partnering directly with clients and ERM leadership to drive project success.
What Your Impact Is:
- Lead field implementation of remediation and demolition projects at industrial facilities across California and the United States.
- Serve as a key liaison between ERM project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality project delivery.
- Oversee construction activities involving contaminated soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor remediation using both traditional and emerging treatment technologies.
- Support the successful delivery of projects involving environmental remediation systems, civil works, earthwork operations, hazardous waste management, industrial water and wastewater treatment systems, air treatment systems, and site restoration.
- Manage demolition activities at industrial facilities including power plants, former chemical manufacturing facilities, and manufacturing sites that may require PCB and asbestos abatement.
- Help identify future opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and support business development efforts that contribute to ERM's continued growth.
What You'll Bring:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Construction Management, Geology, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience with remediation construction sites and industrial demolition projects, including preparation of scope requirements, review of work plans, and report writing.
- Ability to support cost estimates, track project costs, monitor project transmittals and submittals, and review invoices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
- Strong client service, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work primarily in California while supporting projects throughout the United States.
- Willingness to travel extensively, with approximately 80-90% of work time spent in the field.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training required (training can be provided).
- Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
- This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Preferred
- OSHA 30-hour Construction training.
- OSHA 8-hour Supervisor training.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Prior construction, remediation, and demolition cost estimating experience.
- Experience evaluating contractor proposals and supporting procurement activities for environmental construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and review remediation and demolition projects, including development of scopes of work, review of contractor work plans, evaluation of scope options, development and review of project cost estimates, participation in pre-construction interviews, and supervision of field activities.
- Attend client meetings, progress meetings, and project reviews while documenting project status and schedule updates.
- Conduct field safety walks, monitor project activities, and prepare detailed field reports.
- Work closely with ERM Project Managers and Partners in Charge to drive project execution, support client communications, and establish expectations regarding safety, quality, and overall project performance.
- Review contractor documentation including Requests for Information (RFIs), contract clarifications, required submittals, change order requests, and other project compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with ERM design engineers to assess construction feasibility, develop contractor bid packages, lead contractor site walks, and evaluate contractor proposals.
- Provide construction management support including construction quality assurance, site setup and preparation, construction sequencing, restoration evaluation, remedial systems oversight, and support of related civil and environmental projects.
- Support site investigations to assess existing building conditions and identify hazardous materials requiring specialized handling during remediation and demolition activities.
- Serve as a Field Safety Officer when required, including preparation of site-specific Health & Safety Plans, conducting daily safety briefings, monitoring compliance with safety procedures, performing equipment inspections, and maintaining safety records.
- Serve as a Demolition Manager when required by coordinating daily site activities, reviewing project scopes against field operations, collaborating with contractor superintendents and project managers, and documenting project progress.
- Plan and schedule ERM field personnel, evaluate subcontractor performance and schedules, and support negotiations and resolution of change order requests.
- Assist ERM Project Managers in identifying upcoming construction management opportunities, meeting with clients regarding future project needs, and supporting business development activities including proposals, interviews, and project contracting.
