The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for an experienced disputes lawyer who enjoys a combination of autonomy, high-quality work and genuine career ownership.

Whether your focus is commercial litigation, international arbitration, or a blend of both, this role is designed to give you the platform to build a practice that reflects your expertise while working on some of the most complex, high-value disputes in the market.

Sitting within our integrated Litigation, Regulatory & Tax practice, you’ll be part of a truly global disputes platform - collaborating across offices, sectors and specialisms to deliver strategic, commercially focused solutions to clients worldwide.

  • Advise clients strategically across the full dispute lifecycle
  • Work across a diverse range of clients and sectors
  • Collaborate with colleagues across our international network
  • Build your own profile through client engagement and thought leadership.

What We’re Looking For

  • England & Wales qualified disputes lawyer with upwards of 8 years PQE
  • Experience in high-value, complex disputes at all levels of the judiciary but specifically the Commercial Court and experience of cross-border work gained at another top-tier City disputes practice
  • Alternatively or additionally, experience working on investor-state arbitrations brought under bilateral or multilateral investment treaties under one of the following arbitration rules: ICSID Arbitration Rules, ICSID Additional Facility Rules, UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, Stockholm Chambers of Commerce Rules and others

  • International commercial arbitration experience, including arbitrations under the ICC or LCIA Arbitration Rules

  • Strong technical ability and commercial judgement with the ability to advise both on law and practical solutions in a logical manner

  • The confidence to draft tailored legal advice, complex correspondence, witness statements, and instructions to counsel. Able to draft pleadings, skeleton arguments and submissions

  • A team player who is able to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and external organisations in an agile environment

  • A strong work ethic demonstrated by consistently having met standard hours targets
  • Demonstrable track record in successful business development initiatives and a willingness to participate in client secondments
  • Previous client secondments ideal but not essential
  • Client focus and commitment to first-class service demonstrated by confidence in client relationships
  • Collaborative mindset showing an open mind to all new developments and strategies
