Sizewell C


Location: Based in London on a hybrid basis with travel to Suffolk as required.

Contract: Permanent, full-time.

Salary: Competitive dependant on experience, plus benefits

Benefits include:

Annual Leave: 28 days per annum, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service, plus bank holidays.
Bonus: 5% annual bonus.
Pension Contributions: Defined Contribution Pension Scheme with up to 7.5% employee contribution 15% employer contribution.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and pragmatic Managing Legal Counsel to join the Sizewell C Legal Team, to play a pivotal role in supporting the operation of the multi-billion pound Civil Works Alliance, one of the project’s most critical delivery partnerships.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership on all legal aspects of Sizewell C’s role and interest in the Civil Works Alliance, including governance and ongoing operations, ensuring robust contractual, commercial, and regulatory compliance across a complex, multi-party alliance framework.

This is a senior position within the Sizewell C Legal team, with line management duties and forming part of the legal management team (reporting direct to the Deputy General Counsel with a clear line to the General Counsel). You will provide strategic and operational legal advice to the Civil Works Alliance leadership team within Sizewell C, working closely with colleagues across Delivery, Commercial, Finance and Project Controls functions, as well as with alliance partners and senior stakeholders.

About You

A qualified solicitor or barrister (England & Wales) with significant post-qualification experience in major construction or infrastructure projects.
Strong background in construction and engineering law (NEC, FIDIC, or alliance models).
Proven experience advising on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to provide clear, practical, and commercially sound legal advice in complex environments.
Experience working within a collaborative or alliancing delivery model.
