About the Role

Are you a passionate legal professional with strong leadership skills and a commitment to culturally safe, client-centred practice? Djirra is looking for another Managing Lawyer to join our growing Legal Services team based at head office, Abbotsford.

In this pivotal leadership role, you’ll provide strategic direction, hands-on support, and expert supervision to a dedicated team delivering holistic legal support to Aboriginal women. You’ll help build and maintain a positive, empowered team culture while ensuring our services meet all legal, professional, and accreditation standards.

As a key member of Djirra’s Legal Services leadership team, you’ll work closely with the Legal Practice Manager to deliver impactful, culturally safe legal assistance that supports Aboriginal women and their families.

Requirements

Essential:

  • You are a qualified legal practitioner holding, or eligible to hold, an unrestricted Victorian Practising Certificate.
  • A Working with Children Check Card
  • A Police Check

Desirable:

  • Victorian Legal Aid Panel Certifier status or capacity to apply for certification. Post-graduate qualifications.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
