Job Description

Minimum requirements:

  • MBA, Business degree or Engineering Degree (ideal)
  • 10 years' senior management experience or more; with at least 5 years in the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement operational strategies as per Company Strategic business plans.

  • Ensure all required processes are in place to run the business and ensure these are followed.

  • Work with IT to identify and introduce technological advances to meet the company competitive objectives within the marketplace including computer-based software.
  • Lead the implementation of new manufacturing initiatives and adherence to best practice.
  • Work with Financial Manager to introduce financial management protocols.
  • Work alongside HR to provide strong leadership and direction to the employees, ensuring a strong, motivated workforce at all times.
  • Evaluate and decide upon key investments in maintenance, new equipment, infrastructure and skills.
  • Communicate strategy, goals and results to employees in the Feedback sessions, twice a year.
  • Ensure management team is correctly positioned and staffed to effectively manage each critical part of each business effectively and provide proper, detailed, timeous feedback.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Analyse data to inform operational decisions or activities.

  • Assist with preparation of cash flow forecasts, where necessary.
  • Manage company Cash Flow through a drive to Invoicing clients and ensure project manufacturing milestones are met.
  • Review 3-month future cash flow forecast and plan the business appropriately.
  • Review the amount of Project guarantees / bonds periodically.
  • Ensure forex coverage is in place and risk thereof is suitably managed.
  • Review month end finances and month end closures
  • Develop, set and execute sales strategies and market plans to fulfil targets and deliver maximum margin, in line with the Business Unit strategy and targets.
  • Identify improvements to commercial procedures as and when necessary.
  • Communicate the strategy and its objectives to the sales team.
  • Monitor and analyze market and competitor activity, trends and demands, and ensure action plans are implemented.
  • Take responsibility for achieving set sales objectives and operational costs targets.

  • Ensure up to date market research and appropriate information on target markets and new opportunities.

  • Ensure ComCom (and other relevant) legislative compliance.

  • Set up weighted objectives for direct reporting lines, linked to business objectives.
  • Conduct regular individual meetings with reporting lines.
  • Conduct annual Performance Reviews with Middle Management in line with Company guidelines.

  • Coach and assist senior managers in fulfilling the role of change sponsors and change drivers.
  • Provide direct support and coaching to line managers and supervisors as they facilitate transitions with their direct reports.
  • Consult and coach project teams and assist in integrating change management activities into project plans.
  • Support organisational design and definition of roles and responsibilities.
