Job Description

Responsibilities

Strategy Development

  • Define medium to long-term strategy and implement roadmap of the Company in supporting its clients IT strategies
  • Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement Companys goal setting, performance management and annual operating plan

Establishment of Strong Corporate and Control Functions

  • Oversee financial strategy in development of financial models, budgets and analyses including annual budgeting, control revenue and expense, set and control yearly budget.
  • Establish operational benchmarks, resources and people capabilities needed to achieve strategic goals.
  • Manage and mitigate the Companys legal risk and govern all compliance related matters.

Day to Day Operations Oversight

  • Provide strategic direction, leadership and management of operational activities ensuring IT requirements of client are met.
  • Align and forge collaboration across functional through established performance management routines, measures and operating rhythm.
  • Accountable for driving cost savings and digitalisation strategy.
  • Review and endorse various memos to be circulated for approval as per approval matrix.

System Development Project Management

  • Lead project teams to define and achieve all system development project goals.
  • As project sponsor, interface with senior management teams of Company Headquarters and client to champion and drive project deliverables.

People and Culture

  • Build a high-performance values-driven culture.
  • Lead, develop and roll out strategic priorities for each department.
  • Provide daily supervision to Department Heads, ensuring team heads/leads are motivated and equipped with skills and resource to manage their teams respectively.
  • Oversee the hiring, training and coaching of mid-junior level managers.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Influence and forge collaboration across senior stakeholders in Japan HQ and client country and regional level to achieve strategic priorities.
  • Provide senior leadership oversight to cross-functional projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in IT
  • Knowledge and experience in software development life cycle, change management, service deliver management and vendor management.
  • Min. 15 years of work experience of IT infrastructure domain.
  • Min. 10 years experience in IT of FI/Banking sector.
  • Min. 5 years experience in planning role of current and future enterprise infrastructure, ensuring the scalability of infra design and architecture to handle expected growth.
  • Good understanding of control functions such as Finance, HR and Compliance
  • Experience in managing and supervising multi-level teams (20 staff and above).
  • Proficiency in both English and Japanese is highly preferred as this role needs to prepare reports in Japanese for reporting to Head Office in Japan. This role also needs to present and communicate with senior stakeholders who mainly communicate in Japanese.
  • Strong problem and conflict management skills.
  • Excellent organization, negotiation and presentation skills.
