Job Description

Essential Job Functions / Key Accountability.

Strategic Leadership & Market Growth.

  • Define and execute the India Sub-Continent strategic plan aligned to Regional and Global Objectives
  • Identify growth opportunities across freight forwarding, contract logistics, custom brokerage, domestic transportation, and integrated
  • supply chain solutions.
  • Drive expansion into new industry verticals (Automotive, Pharma, Industrial, Retail, Technology, etc.)
  • Lead mergers, acquisitions, partnerships or joint ventures where strategically relevant.
  • Position the Company as a leading logistics partner within the Indian marketplace.

Full Financial Stewardship.

• Hold complete Profit & Loss responsibility for the country.
• Deliver sustainable revenue growth, margin expansion and EBITDA performance.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Ensure strong working capital management and credit control.
• Maintain financial integrity, internal controls and audit compliance.
• Partner with Regional Finance and Global HQ on financial governance and reporting.

Corporate Governance & Regulatory Accountability
Serve as statutory director (where appointed) under the Indian Companies Act.
• Ensure full compliance with:

  1. Indian Companies Act
  2. GST regulations
  3. Customs & DGFT regulations
  4. FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act)
  5. Labour laws (EPF, ESI, Gratuity, Shops & Establishment, Industrial Relations legislation)

• Oversee statutory filings, audits and regulatory inspections.
• Ensure robust enterprise risk management and compliance frameworks.
• Act as the primary liaison with government authorities, regulators and industry bodies

Operational & Service Excellence.

• Provide executive oversight of all operational stations across India.
• Ensure consistent execution of global SOPs and quality standards.
• Drive service reliability, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency• Ensure compliance with trade regulations, cargo security requirements and contractual obligations.
• Champion digital transformation and operational modernization initiatives

Commercial & Client Leadership

• Lead executive engagement with key multinational and domestic clients.
• Drive strategic account management and large-scale contract negotiations.
• Build strategic alliances with airlines, shipping lines, transport providers and logistics partners.
• Strengthen brand presence within the Indian logistics and supply chain market.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing executive leadership team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, ethical conduct and customer focus.
  • Oversee workforce strategy, succession planning and leadership development.
  • Ensure alignment with global HR governance standards while adhering to Indian labour regulations.
  • Promote employee engagement, diversity and inclusion.

Regional & Global Alignment

  • Act as the primary interface between India operations and Regional / Global leadership.
  • Contribute to Regional strategic planning and cross-border initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent communication and transparency across the matrix structure.
  • Participate in global leadership forums and executive governance meetings.
  • Media and public representation where required

External Representation

The Managing Director represents the Company externally in:

  • Industry associations and trade bodies,
  • Governmen3t and regulatory forums
  • Key customer executive engagements
  • Strategic partner negotiations
  • Media and Public representation.

Travel Requirements:

  • Frequent domestic travel across India
  • International travel as required for Regional and Global Engagement.
