What You’ll Do

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise Human Resources department staff, including the Human Resources Specialist, Human Resources Technician, and Talent Acquisition Specialist
- Conduct coaching and support, evaluations, professional development planning, and performance management for department staff
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Development
- Develop and execute Human Resources strategies aligned with Atlas’ mission, strategic priorities, and organizational goals.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership regarding employee relations, compensation, compliance, workforce planning, and organizational change.
- Lead departmental strategic initiatives and organizational improvement efforts while promoting a culture of accountability, perseverance, connection, and professional growth.
- Lead compensation strategy, salary administration, market analysis, position classification, and employment offers for new and returning employees.
- Analyze workforce trends, retention, recruitment metrics, and other data to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and facilitate quarterly leadership training aligned with current priorities.
Human Resources Operations & Compliance
- Provide strategic oversight of talent acquisition, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, leave administration, employee records, licensure compliance, HRIS administration, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Lead performance management processes, including bi-annual evaluations and development initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Human Resources policies, procedures, and operational best practices that promote compliance and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, regulatory reporting requirements, and organizational policies.
- Conduct audits and prepare reports, presentations, and workforce analytics for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
Employee Relations & Risk Management
- Lead complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, grievances, disciplinary actions, accommodations, conflict resolution, and other sensitive employment matters.
- Manage unemployment claims and hearings, ensuring timely responses and organizational representation throughout the claims process.
- Lead compliant involuntary termination processes, including documentation, and risk assessment.
- Provide guidance to organizational leaders regarding employee performance, coaching, documentation, progressive discipline, and employment decisions.
- Oversee workers' compensation administration and claim management
- Collaborate with legal counsel as needed regarding employment-related legal matters and risk management.
Department Leadership & Financial Stewardship
- Supervise, develop, coach, and evaluate Human Resources team members while establishing departmental priorities and performance expectations.
- Monitor departmental performance metrics and key performance indicators to evaluate operational effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage departmental resources and ensure responsible stewardship of the Human Resources budget.
- Attend required professional development opportunities, conferences, and annual trainings to maintain current knowledge of employment law, Human Resources best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Compensation & Schedule
- Salaried/Exempt
- Signing Bonus: $3,500, with a 1-year commitment
- Annual
Salary Range: $92,700 - $110,510 (DOE)
- Full Time; Monday - Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

QualificationsWho You Are

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience directly supervising employees and managing performance, accountability, and professional development
- Successfully pass all required background screenings pursuant to CRS §22-30.5-110.7
- Extensive knowledge of federal and Colorado employment laws, and other applicable employment regulations
- Demonstrated experience leading employee relations, workplace investigations, accommodations, and conflict resolution
- Experience developing HR strategy, policies, procedures, and organizational initiatives
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and effectively manage sensitive and complex situations
Desired

Qualifications:
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent professional certification
- Previous Human Resources leadership experience within a public school district, charter school or nonprofit organization
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Work on-site during established business hours.
- Travel between Atlas Schools campuses and occasionally travel out of state for professional development
- Be able to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
