This is an established, multi-billion AUM business with a strong track record and significant growth opportunity across all client segments. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing the strategic growth agenda for the UK business, deepening BlackRock’s relationships with existing clients, driving new business opportunities, and leading a high-performing team. The individual will serve as the senior representative of the business in the UK market and will play a key role in strengthening BlackRock’s position as a trusted partner to Family Offices, Charities, Endowments and Foundations. The individual is expected to represent BlackRock’s entire suite of services – representing the full range of BlackRock’s investment capabilities, including traditional long-only strategies (active and index), alternative investments and OCIO solutions – and to play a key role in contributing to the continued growth and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Define and own success metrics, including asset growth, share of wallet, client diversification, market penetration and product adoption
  • Ensure a disciplined approach to pipeline management, client prioritisation and business planning to maximise commercial outcomes
  • Identify emerging market trends and opportunities and translate them into actionable growth initiatives for the business

Business Development

  • Develop long-term relationships with large clients within the target market, ultimately delivering against business objectives in terms of assets, net new revenue, new mandates and product diversification
  • Proactively manage existing relationships and identify and defend at-risk business
  • Identify and pursue new investment opportunities through consultative dialogue with investors
  • Work collaboratively with partners across BlackRock globally, including specialist investment teams, sales teams and client service teams, to meet clients’ needs and objectives
  • Leverage the full breadth of the firm’s expertise and capabilities to deliver innovative and timely ideas and solutions to clients
  • Develop product fluency across the full range of BlackRock’s investment offerings, including ETFs, index strategies, alternatives, active equity, fixed income, multi-asset and OCIO solutions

Thought Leadership and Market Engagement

  • Act as a senior professional for BlackRock across the UK market, developing relationships with key decision-makers, trustees, family office principals, advisers, consultants and industry influencers
  • Attend relevant internal and external events to further enhance BlackRock’s profile across the UK Family Office, Charities, Endowments and Foundations market
  • Identify opportunities for targeted campaigns, events and roadshows to accelerate client engagement and product adoption
  • Partner with marketing, product and investment teams to develop thought leadership that supports client outcomes and business growth

Team Management and Development

  • Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and excellence
  • Assess team structure and ensure resources are appropriately aligned to strategic growth priorities
  • Attract, develop and retain exceptional talent, with a focus on coaching, succession planning and future leadership development
  • Partner effectively across BlackRock’s client businesses and investment platform to deliver the firm’s full capabilities to clients
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain a robust risk and control environment, escalating issues appropriately

Success in Role

Success in this role will be measured through sustained business growth, deepening strategic client relationships, expansion of BlackRock’s share of wallet across key accounts, strengthening of the firm’s market position in the UK, and continued development of a high-performing and inclusive team.

Key Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced business leader with a demonstrated track record of success serving institutionally-sized Family Offices, Charities, Endowments and Foundations in the UK, and the ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative environment by leveraging BlackRock’s global capabilities and resources.

  • In-depth knowledge across asset classes and investment products, with the ability to engage clients, prospects and advisers in sophisticated portfolio and market discussions
  • Ability to represent BlackRock’s full platform, including active, index, alternatives and OCIO capabilities
  • Self-starter with a systematic, structured and professional approach to business development and relationship management
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build, develop and motivate high-performing teams while fostering an inclusive culture
  • Strong commercial judgement, strategic thinking and execution capability
  • Ability to drive innovation, identify new opportunities and incubate ideas that contribute to long-term business growth
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the credibility and presence to represent BlackRock externally and engage effectively with senior stakeholders
