The Role
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking to appoint a Managing Director and GTM Sales Leader for Switzerland, reporting to the Managing Director of the Central Europe Region. The Managing Director will have overall leadership responsibility for HPE Switzerland, driving sustainable growth, market leadership, operational excellence, and employee engagement in one of HPE’s most strategic and sophisticated European markets.
The Managing Director acts as the face of the company to employees, customers, partners, government institutions, industry bodies, and the media. The role carries full accountability for country business performance, strategic execution, and governance, while ensuring strong alignment with HPE’s regional and global priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Market Leadership
Define and execute a country growth strategy aligned with HPE's corporate objectives and Switzerland's market opportunities.
Lead the development of innovative go-to-market approaches that strengthen HPE’s competitive position across enterprise, public sector, and service provider segments.
Drive business transformation initiatives that accelerate growth in Hybrid Cloud, AI, Networking, Data, and Intelligent Edge solutions.
Foster strong relationships with strategic customers, partners, alliances, and industry leaders to identify new business opportunities.
Provide strategic recommendations on investments, market expansion opportunities, and business priorities to regional and global leadership teams.
Represent HPE externally through keynote presentations, executive forums, media engagements, and industry thought leadership.
Business Performance & Sales Leadership
Own and deliver the country P&L, ensuring achievement of revenue, profitability, cash flow, and strategic business objectives.
Champion a high-performance sales culture focused on customer success, innovation, and long-term value creation.
Sponsor and support strategic customer engagements and major deals, ensuring executive alignment and successful outcomes.
Drive disciplined forecasting, pipeline management, and execution excellence across all business units.
Ensure effective use of resources and investments to maximise business performance and shareholder value.
Lead resolution of critical customer escalations and strengthen HPE's reputation as a trusted strategic partner.
Leadership & Talent Development
Lead and inspire the Swiss leadership team to deliver exceptional business and people outcomes.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, innovation, and continuous learning.
Drive talent reviews, succession planning, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives across the country.
Act as a visible and authentic leader, strengthening HPE culture and employee experience through regular communication and engagement.
Ensure organisational capabilities and workforce planning support both immediate and long-term business priorities.
Governance, Compliance & Corporate Responsibility
Serve as the legal representative for HPE entities in Switzerland as required.
Ensure full compliance with local laws, regulations, HPE policies, and Standards of Business Conduct.
Oversee fiduciary responsibilities, statutory obligations, corporate governance, and risk management activities.
Partner with HR, Legal, Finance, and employee representatives to maintain constructive employee relations.
Lead crisis management, business continuity, environmental health and safety, and corporate responsibility initiatives.
External Relations & Corporate Representation
Establish and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders, industry associations, chambers of commerce, and key influencers.
Strengthen HPE's position as a leading technology partner within Switzerland's digital transformation ecosystem.
Represent HPE in public policy discussions relevant to technology, digital innovation, and economic development.
Act as a trusted advisor to Switzerland's largest customers and strategic accounts.
Experience & Leadership Profile
The successful candidate will be an accomplished executive with a strong track record of sales leadership within the technology industry.
Key qualifications include:
Significant experience leading complex technology businesses with full commercial accountability, including P&L ownership.
Proven success driving growth, transformation, and market leadership in highly competitive environments.
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence at C-suite, board, government, and industry levels.
Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing leadership teams and foster a culture of accountability and inclusion.
Deep understanding of enterprise technology trends, including cloud, AI, networking, infrastructure, and digital transformation.
Strong customer orientation and a reputation for building trusted, long-term strategic relationships.
Experience navigating a complex stakeholder environment across customers, partners, employees, regulators, and shareholders.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and change leadership skills.

Languages
Fluent English is required.
German and/or French would be highly advantageous given the Swiss business environment.
Location & Travel
The role will be based in Switzerland, with regular travel across the country, within Central Europe, and internationally as required.
