On behalf of our client, we are looking for Managing Director:

The Opportunity:

Our client is a well-established European organization operating across multiple markets and providing services to a wide range of individuals and businesses. As part of its continued expansion in Southeast Europe, the company is setting up a dedicated operation in Serbia and is seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead this strategic initiative.

The Managing Director will be responsible for leading all aspects of the Serbian business unit, including operations, sales, customer service, compliance, financial management and strategic partnerships. We are looking for a visionary leader with strong business acumen, excellent people leadership skills and a solid understanding of modern service-oriented business models and local market dynamics.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

• Develop and implement the local business strategy in line with global objectives of the company
• Establish the Serbian office, operational processes and infrastructure, including hiring, compliance and systems setup.
• Represent company to stakeholders, government agencies and business partners in Serbia.

Operations Management

• Oversee daily operations across all service, technical and customer-facing functions.
• Ensure compliance with Serbian regulations, GDPR and internal data security standards.
• Maintain high service reliability, uptime and customer satisfaction.

Financial Oversight

• Own the P&L for the Serbian entity, managing budgets, forecasts and cost control.
• Report on business performance and KPIs to the Group management team.

Sales & Marketing

• Develop local go-to-market strategies to drive customer acquisition and retention.
• Build partnerships with resellers, agencies and enterprise clients.
• Collaborate with central marketing to localize campaigns and promotions.

Team Building & Culture

• Recruit, lead and inspire a high-performing local team.
• Promote a culture of innovation, accountability and customer focus.
• Support professional development and retention of top talent.

If you are someone who has this set of skills:

Must:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration or a related field
• Minimum of 7+ years in a senior leadership role within a technology-driven or service-oriented industry
• Strong understanding of modern service platforms, operational processes, and technology-enabled business models
• Proven track record in managing P&L, scaling operations, and driving sustainable business growth
• Excellent communication skills in Serbian and English.
• Experience working in cross-border environments or within an international organization is considered an advantage
