ERM Africa

Shape the Future of Sustainable Investment Across Africa

Are you passionate about helping businesses, investors, and financial institutions make better decisions for people, communities, and the environment?

At ERM, you'll do far more than deliver projects. You'll join the world's largest pure-play sustainability consultancy and become part of a global community of experts helping clients navigate some of the most complex environmental, social, and ESG challenges of our time.

From advising leading development finance institutions and global lenders to supporting major infrastructure, mining, energy, telecommunications, and industrial projects, your work will directly influence sustainable development outcomes across Africa and beyond.

But what truly sets ERM apart is our people.

We foster a culture built on collaboration, integrity, accountability, respect, and empowerment, where everyone is encouraged to bring their ideas, challenge convention, and shape the future of our business. We invest heavily in professional development, providing access to the ERM Academy, global technical networks, leadership programmes, mentoring opportunities, and a broad range of career pathways that enable our people to continually expand their expertise.

Whether your ambition is to deepen your technical specialism, broaden your commercial skills, develop into a people leader, or eventually progress toward Partner level, ERM provides the platform, support, and global opportunities to help you achieve your goals.

As part of our Africa team, you'll have the opportunity to work with colleagues from around the world, contribute to multidisciplinary projects across climate change, biodiversity, ESG strategy, sustainable finance, impact assessment, human rights, decarbonisation, and environmental due diligence, and build a diverse and rewarding career that extends well beyond a single discipline.

We recognise and reward high performance, encourage entrepreneurial thinking, and empower our consultants to pursue opportunities that broaden their capabilities and create meaningful impact for our clients and communities.

The Opportunity

ERM is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Managing Consultant to join our growing Environmental & Social Due Diligence (ESDD) practice across Africa.

This is an exciting opportunity for a consulting professional with strong ESDD experience to take a leading role in shaping and growing ERM's transaction advisory and sustainable finance services in the region. You will work at the intersection of sustainability, finance, and risk management, supporting some of Africa's most significant investment, development, and infrastructure projects.

As a senior member of the team, you will combine technical excellence with leadership responsibilities, serving as both a Project Manager and People Leader. You will lead complex due diligence assignments, build trusted client relationships, mentor and develop consultants, and contribute to the strategic growth of our business across Africa.

Most importantly, you will join a team that values curiosity, continuous learning, collaboration, and professional growth, giving you the opportunity to work on diverse projects, develop new skills, and make a lasting impact across multiple sectors and geographies.
