Job Description

Why Work Here?

Employees at ATCO are offered endless variety. We are entrepreneurial with a large degree of autonomy and freedom, experiencing new situations and learning opportunities every day. Internal advancement is commonplace, and we are always supported in our career journey. We believe in creating a workplace where you can thrive professionally while contributing to something greater, serving our communities and shaping the future of energy.

About the Role

The Manager, Warehouse Operations leads the effective day-to-day management of Canadian Utilities (CU) Warehousing for an 8-month term. You’ll set the tone for a safe, consistent, and high-performing operation—bringing standards, continuous improvement, and strong safety leadership to how work gets done.

This role is equal parts strategy and execution: shaping how facilities, equipment, and capacity are planned, while using data and KPIs to turn priorities into clear action. You’ll partner across CU to align on service expectations, solve operational challenges quickly, and keep customers supported.

If you’re energized by autonomy, variety, and leading teams that deliver essential services to communities, this is your opportunity to make an immediate impact.

What You Get to Do:

• Set the direction for CU Warehousing—evolve standards, policies, and best practices that make operations safer, smarter, and more consistent
• Drive continuous improvement across warehouse processes, layouts, and workflows to boost service levels and productivity
• Champion Safety First—lead safety planning, incident investigations, and corrective actions to protect people and operations
• Own the facilities and equipment roadmap—partner with Real Estate & Facilities to plan space, capacity, and equipment needs
• Plan for what’s next—forecast future warehousing demand, resourcing requirements, and network capabilities
• Strengthen readiness and resilience—ensure Business Continuity and Emergency Response plans are in place and validated through tabletop/mock exercises
• Partner across CU—align on service expectations, solve operational issues quickly, and keep stakeholders informed
• Manage budgets and spend with discipline—forecast, report, and ensure procurement and warehousing investments deliver value
• Use data to run the operation—track KPIs, identify trends, and turn insights into clear action plans
• Lead and grow a high-performing team—hire, onboard, coach, and build strong succession and development plans

What You Bring:

• Post-secondary education in business, supply chain, or related program
• 10+ years’ experience leading warehouse operations
• Manager-level experience with progressive responsibility leading complex warehousing teams across broad distribution networks, with a proven ability to mentor, delegate, and oversee work
• Experience using an SCM module of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
• Ability to travel up to 60% of the time to locations in Alberta, Yukon and Northwest Territories
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to articulate and communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience
• Ability to prioritize and effectively manage a multitude of responsibilities with competing deadlines
• High ethical standards and personal integrity in all internal and external dealings
• Emergency response experience (ICS) is an asset
• Experience in a project environment is an asset
• SCMP or similar designation is an asset
• Experience in a regulated environment (Utilities, Health Care, Food & Liquor, Pharma, Government) is an asset

What We Offer:

• A culture based on caring, integrity, agility, collaboration, and striving for excellence
• Competitive compensation
• Flex benefits
• Training and mentorship programs
• Charitable donation matching

Please note this is an 8-month temporary position.

We would like to thank everyone for their application; however, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.
