Job Description

Job Purpose:

Ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of virtualization Infrastructure within the bank.

This role is responsible for day‑to‑day operations, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, and technology enhancement across VMware and KVM‑based virtualization platforms, including their underlying storage and backup infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities:

Virtualization Management:

• System Administration and optimize VMware ESXi/vCenter, SRM, and KVM-based virtualization platforms.

• Utilize VMware SRM to automate server failover/recovery processes for secondary data center operations.

• Perform resource allocation, performance tuning, utilization tracking, and capacity planning.

• Lead platform upgrades, patching, and end-to-end lifecycle management.

Windows Servers Management

• Administer Windows Server, AD DS, DNS, DHCP, Sites & Services, Group Policy.

• Implement OS hardening and baseline compliance (e.g., CIS benchmarks), local/privileged access controls, and certificate services.

• Manage patching and updates using SCCM including scheduling, deployment and rollback.
  

System Monitoring and Capacity Planning:

• Monitor platform performance and resource consumption to support proactive scaling.

• Prepare annual capacity planning reports with growth analysis and forecasting.

Patch & Upgrade Management

• Plan and execute platform and firmware upgrades to address vendor EOS/EOL and security requirements.

• Oversee replacement or refresh of legacy hardware/software components to maintain supportability and reliability.

Governance, Compliance & Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for audit, risk, and compliance reviews.

• Conduct Security Acceptance Testing (SAT) and ensure system configuration meets compliance standards.

• Produce monthly system performance reports and yearly capacity reports.

Disaster Recovery & Resilience

• Define and configure enterprise backup policies using NetBackup and Cohesity STDB

• Conduct regular backup validation, DR drills, and maintain DR procedures and runbooks, ensure adherence to data protection policies and RPO/RTO objectives.

• Support DR activation and system failover during scheduled drills.

Incident & Problem Management

• Lead incident resolution and coordinate cross-team troubleshooting.

• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive and corrective actions.

Project & Change Management

• Lead virtualization and Windows-platform related projects including system refresh, migration, capacity expansion, and audits.

• Collaborate with vendors on procurement, installation, configuration, and technical support.

Incumbent Requirements:

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Veritas Netbakup certifications preferred.

• ITIL certification is a plus.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in virtualization and storage infrastructure.

• Proven experience managing VMware, SRM and KVM based virtualztaion environments.
  

Technical Skills

• Strong practical experience with:

- VMware ESXi, vCenter, SRM (operations, maintenance, DR runbooks).

- KVM‑based platforms such as Sangfor HCI or H3C CAS

- Backup & recovery tools NetBackup, Cohesity, STDB, or equivalent.

- SCCM for Windows Server patching and software package deployment.

• Familiar with networking basics (VLANs, routing, load balancers, firewall rules).

• Good PowerShell knowledge for automation and troubleshooting.

• Exposure to Azure IaaS/Arc/ASR, hybrid identity (Entra ID), and Intune would be advantageous.
