Manager, Virtual Nursing

Hours: 8-4:30 with call every 4 weeks 5pm-7amm

Newark, DE (Avenue North)

ChristianaCare Hospital is currently seeking a Manager for its Virtual Nursing Hospital at Home Program. The Manager of Virtual Nursing will oversee all operational aspects of the Center for Virtual Health under the direction of the Director of Operations. This role includes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for daily operational activities, which encompass managing caregivers, budgeting, implementing policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), as well as ensuring quality patient care.

SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS:

Daily contact with CVH caregivers, patients, family members, medical/dental staff, volunteers and students. Contact at various time intervals with community agencies and companies, media and other healthcare organizations as well as the general public

DIRECTION/SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

Direct supervisor for RNs

Provides directions to Paramedics, Contract Staff, Providers as needed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the hospital at home virtual nurses, managers and mentors’ caregivers, develop and implement patient care plans, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals and departments.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to manage all sub-sets under the Center for Virtual Health including, Hospital Care at Home and. Designated Care at home programs.
  • Assures compliance with regulatory and professional standards
  • Identifies priorities of management responsibilities and demonstrates the ability to delegate.
  • Performs routine chart audits and rounds on nurses and patients to establish visibility, collaboration, and monitoring of practice.
  • Responsible for unit time schedule, allocating paid time off and holidays
  • Performing quarterly caregiver evaluations and managing conflicts that arise.
  • Fostering a positive work environment where each caregiver feels valued and supported
  • Conducts interviews and hiring of potential caregivers with other members of the team as appropriate
  • Ensures the implementation and adherence to policies/procedures/SOPs within their department.
  • Implement and monitor adherence to safety policies and protocols, manage infection control practices, and oversee the correct use of personal protective equipment
  • Identify and lead quality improvement initiatives, participate in budgeting and financial planning for the unit, conduct staff training and development programs, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Coaches, disciplines, and evaluates caregivers according to CCHS policy
  • Maintains caregiver and patient confidentiality
  • Acts as a liaison with other departments to enhance unit development and improve clinical excellence.
  • Identifying new program and service opportunities for the department
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey.
  • BLS certification.
  • BSN and master’s degree or alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree and Masters of Science in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing leadership experience
  • More than 10 years nursing direct patient care experience with preference for a background in both ambulatory and acute care nursing. Virtual healthcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Nursing leadership course completed

Annual Compensation Range $100,152.00 - $160,243.20This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
