The Manager, Venue Sales and Event Management (Performing Arts) is responsible for driving venue revenue through proactive sales, strategic client engagement, and the successful planning and delivery of various food and beverage event types at WestK Performing Arts venues including Xiqu Centre, Freespace and WestK Performing Arts Centre (opening 2027). This role also oversees end‑to‑end banquet event activities while ensuring exceptional event execution, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.
The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders and hirers to maximise venue utilisation, grow commercial opportunities, and uphold the venue’s brand, service standards, and financial objectives.
You will be responsible for:
Sales & Business Development
Achieve all WestK Performing Arts (PA) venues - Xiqu Centre, Freespace and WestK Performing Arts Centre - budgeted utilization and revenues target
Identify and convert new business opportunities across performing arts, corporate, NGOs, commercial and wedding segments
Solicit and pursue new catering sales opportunities for WestK Performing Arts venues
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, promoters, agents, and partners
Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and pricing to form sales strategy
Event Planning & Management
Oversee the end‑to‑end planning and delivery of events with the venue operations team support, from sales to post‑event review
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless communication and coordination for all food & beverage related events
Collaborate with technical, operations, appointed caterer and external vendors to ensure events are delivered smoothly
Ensure all events comply with safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements
Manage event timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver within agreed parameters
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and support Venue Sales and Event Management team members
Champion a client‑focused and solutions‑oriented culture throughout the team
Performing any duties from time to time as reasonably as assigned by the Authority.
You should:
Possess University degree in Art Administration, Event Management, Hospitality, Business Management, or related field;
Have minimum 8 years of relevant experience in venue, hotel or event production agency, of which 6 years should be at a managerial level;
Have experience working in performing arts venues, convention centres, hotels, or large‑scale event spaces is highly desirable;
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills;
Excellent client relationship management and communication abilities;
Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously;
Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams;
Possess a can-do attitude with strong problem‑solving skills;
Be proficient in event booking platforms and Microsoft Office suite; and
Be proficient in written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Stretching across 40 hectares of reclaimed land, WestK is one of the largest cultural projects in the world, blending art, education and open space.
Its vision is to create a vibrant cultural quarter for Hong Kong where the local arts scene can interact, develop and collaborate. Providing 23 hectares of public open space with two kilometres of vibrant harbour-front promenade it will also include a variety of arts and cultural facilities that will produce and host world-class exhibitions, performances and arts and cultural events.
A Development Plan for the District, based on well-received Foster + Partner’s Conceptual Plan, was approved by the Chief Executive-in-Council in January 2013. Overlooking the magnificent Victoria Harbour, the District will begin to take shape over the next decade.
By developing this sizable project in phases we can start to bring the district to life. The Xiqu Centre, Freespace, Art Park, M+, Hong Kong Palace Museum and Lyric Theatre Complex, will be developed as a first batch of facilities aiming for opening to the public.
